Why I don't guarantee results for freelance writing students

Why I Never Guarantee Results For My Freelance Writing Students

People ask me all the time if I will guarantee their results as one of my freelance writing students. My answer might surprise you…

because I don’t.

Use The Tools

Your results are up to you and the effort you put in. I have no control over that. What I DO is build in as many success mechanisms as I can, and I don’t leave you stranded.

I can give you the tools, guidance, training, and support. But you decide if you put in the work and write pitches or sit and watch Netflix.

My information works if you do the work. I cannot guarantee your effort. If I give you the best tools in the world, but you put in no or minimal effort, it won’t work.

Motivate Your Mindset

In the past few months, I’ve been talking more about mindset. I realized that even with all the great content I was putting out, some of the difficulty lay in mindset. Procrastination, lack of confidence, fear. All things that add up to not doing the work.

To help, I’ve been addressing imposter syndrome, the lack of motivation, and fear of failure in my content. I’ve been helping my freelance writing students and group push through these excuses and take imperfect action. I love hearing their success stories when they push through and take steps!

Don’t Buy If You’re Not Ready To Commit

Before you buy a course, if you’re more concerned about the refund policy than digging into the course, think about why that is. Maybe you’re just being cost-conscious, especially if it’s a big investment. That’s fine. But don’t use a refund policy as an excuse to not do the work.

Do your research and wait until you’re ready to commit before you buy. Make sure it’s a good course for you. Look information up online and see if you can find feedback from former students.

If you have questions about any of this, come join my free Facebook Group, The Ink Well Guild. We have new and experienced writers in the group, and I’m frequently in there, responding to people. We help each other out with advice and feedback.

Clips Camp

If you need help getting great writing samples for your portfolio, I have a course called Clips Camp.

It’s a three-week course for new and advanced new freelance writers who want to get started with high-paid client work. If you’re on Upwork or Fiverr and miserable, if you haven’t even done anything to get started and you don’t know what the first step is, then Clips Camp is for you.

I teach you how to put together a solid portfolio of writing samples that position you as the kind of awesome writer that awesome clients want to hire. If you want in on that or you just want more information, go to clipscamp.com, and I will see you on the inside!
